All of Us
It doesn’t take long to see what makes The Banquet work. It’s not one person or one group. “It’s a community that chooses, again and again, to step in,” says Executive Director Tamera Jerke-Liesinger.
Every meal begins long before it is served. It starts with someone deciding to give their time, a group signing up to prepare and serve, or a donor choosing to support the work behind the scenes. Each action may seem small on its own, but together, they create something steady and reliable for those who need it most.
Throughout the year, people from all walks of life come through our doors with a shared purpose. Churches, businesses, families, students, and individuals all play a part. Some serve once. Others return week after week. Each one helps carry the mission of Welcoming the Community to Gather & Serve forward in their own way.
For our guests, that consistency matters. It means knowing a meal will be there. It means recognizing familiar faces. It means being welcomed into a space where they are treated with care and respect.
Jerke-Liesinger continues to say “The Banquet is what it is because of the community behind it. When people step in, something bigger takes shape. And through that shared effort, hope continues to grow, one meal at a time.”
