It began with an email from Deacon Henry Knapp asking for help at The Banquet. When COVID-19 forced many groups to cancel their volunteer plans, there was a clear need for people to step in, so I did. A year later, I became the Volunteer Coordinator, and five years after that, I stepped into the role of Office Manager.
I’m grateful for where that first step led. The guests I’ve come to know, the volunteer. I’ve worked alongside, and the staff I serve with have all shaped who I am today. The Banquet has expanded my world in ways I never expected. Whether it’s greeting a familiar face out on a walk or connecting with volunteers and families from near and far—Doland, Pipestone, Rock Valley, or just a few blocks away—it’s a joy every time.
