Winter at the Table

Warm Meals When the Cold Hits Hardest

Winter has a way of revealing needs that often stay hidden the rest of the year. As temperatures drop and daylight fades earlier each day, the pressure on families, seniors, and individuals quietly increases. Heating bills rise. Work hours shift. Transportation becomes harder. For those already living on the edge, these harsh months can turn everyday challenges into overwhelming ones.

During the last quarter alone, The Banquet served 41,435 meals between our Downtown and West locations. Each of those meals represents more than food. It represents warmth, stability, and a place to pause when the cold outside feels relentless.

For individuals experiencing homelessness, winter meals can be lifesaving. A hot plate of food offers not only
nourishment, but a chance to warm up, rest, and connect with familiar faces. For families struggling to stretch limited budgets, a free meal can mean one less impossible choice between groceries, rent, or heat.

The Banquet remains constant through it all. Snowstorms, icy roads, and bitter temperatures do not close our doors. Every meal served is an assurance that no one has to face winter alone. At our tables, there is always a seat, a warm meal, and someone who knows your name, day after day, all winter long, without question, here always.
